How do you meet people and learn something new while you are studying English in San Francisco? Take a fun course!

Yi Yan

If you have ever wanted to learn how to paint, SF’s Yi Yan Art Academy is a great place to start. Yi Yan Art Academy provides painting classes for beginners. The owner, Yi Yan, relocated to the Bay Area after running a successful art school in Chicago. She has won numerous awards for her paintings over the years, and is not just a  talented artist but also an excellent teacher.

The class concept is simple: check the calendar and decide which style of painting you would like to make, reserve the course online, and then . . . buy some wine! Yi Yan’s classes are BYOW (“Bring Your Own Wine”). Perhaps this makes the painting better? Or maybe worse? Either way, it makes it fun!
