Depending on your chosen institution and course, you may need to take an admissions test as part of your application (some joint degree courses require you to take two tests). As well as being an entry requirement, an admissions test gives you the chance to show your potential to succeed on your course.

3 November:

BioMedical Admissions Test (BMAT)

Economics Admissions Assessment (ECAA)

Engineering Admissions Assessment (ENGAA)

Natural Sciences Admissions Assessment (NSAA)

Classics Admissions Test (CAT)

Mathematics Admissions Test (MAT)

Modern Languages Admissions Test (MLAT)

Oriental Languages Aptitude Test (OLAT)

Philosophy Test

 

4 November:

Test of Mathematics for University Admission (TMUA)

English Literature Admissions Test (ELAT)

Thinking Skills Assessment Section 1 (TSA S1) for Cambridge

Thinking Skills Assessment (TSA) for Oxford

History Admissions Test (HAT)

Physics Aptitude Test (PAT)

 

Important registration dates:

1 September: Registration opens

30 September: Deadline to apply for modified papers (e.g. enlarged print)

1 October at 18:00 (BST): Deadline for test centres to register candidates at the standard fee for BMAT and TMUA

15 October at 18:00 (BST): Final deadline for test centres to register candidates
Deadline to apply for Access Arrangements (e.g. extra time)
Deadline to apply for reimbursement of registration fees

 

Test formats

Following a successful pilot, the tests listed below will be run computer-based using BTL Surpass. All other tests will be paper-based.
